LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Clyde Bill Phillips, Jr., age 85, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born, March 10, 1931 in Lancaster, a son of the late Clyde Phillips, Sr. and Corree Hunter Phillips and was the husband of the late Lorene Hinson Phillips. Mr. Phillips served our great country in the United States Air Force. He loved working outdoors and sitting around watching his cattle grazing in the pasture. He was a member of the Cattlemans Association. Mr. Phillips loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Mr. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Jennifer P. Starnes and her companion, Ricky Wright; a grandson, Jacob Clyde Starnes and his wife, Leigh; a granddaughter, Kristen Starnes; five sisters, Catherine P. Hudson, Ruth P. Sowell, Jeanette P. Hunter, Joanne P. Hunter and her husband, Sonny, and Yvonne P. Bragg and her husband, Clint; three sisters-in-law, Elsie Phillips, wife of Wilson, Edith Phillips, wife of Talmadge, and Nell Phillips, wife of Ralph, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorene Hinson Phillips; a son Irvin Thomas Phillips; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Faulkenberry Phillips; three brothers, Wilson Punk Phillips, Ralph Phillips and Talmadge Phillips; and a sister, Dallas Faulkenberry.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Phillips will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Hyde Park Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Simpson. Burial will follow at High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC.
