EDGEMOOR, SC – Mr. Clyde Richard "Pappy" Baker, age 83, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at Piedmont Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1940, in Lancaster, a son of the late Fraudus Buford Baker and Ruth Helms Baker and was the husband of the late Nancy Elizabeth "Beth" Sowell Baker. Mr. Baker graduated in 1959 from Lancaster Senior High School. He was owner and operator of Pappy's Gun Shop. Mr. Baker proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a former well known local dirt track racer, nicknamed "Cyclone".

Mr. Baker is survived by his son, Richard Baker; his daughter, Lisa Vick; six grandchildren, Garrett Baker (Michelle), Brannon Baker (Danielle), Jessica Taylor (Cody), Dylan Baker, Amber Brand (Shane), and Laney Ellis; six great grandchildren, Aria Baker, Brooks Baker, Emily Taylor, Henry Taylor, and two on the way (Baker's); and his brother, David Baker (Gail).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Baker; a son, Joey Baker; his parents; and a brother, Bill Baker.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, April 3, 2023, at Burgess Funeral Home.
