LANCASTER, SC~ Mr. Claude Henry Sinclair, Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born November 13, 1928 in Lancaster, a son of the late Herbert Clyde Sinclair and Joyce Doster Sinclair and was the husband of Marcene Crenshaw Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. He taught Machine Shop at the Lancaster Vocational School sharing his knowledge with students. He earned his Pilots license and was listed in Whos Who of America. He was very industrious and always working in his machine shop. Mr. Sinclair played guitar and sang. Some of his favorite things were visiting the beach, the mountains and fishing. He always had a smile, enjoyed life and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved Jesus Christ and lived life to the fullest.
Mr. Sinclair is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marcene Crenshaw Sinclair; his children that he truly loved, Claude Sinclair, Jr. and wife, Martha Jo of Lancaster, Tommy Sinclair and wife, Melinda of Pawleys Island, Steve Sinclair and wife, Paula of Lancaster, Janice Sinclair Ainsworth of Lancaster, Rhea Sinclair Plemmons and husband, Michael of Whitmire, and Patty Sinclair Penegar of Lancaster; a brother, Fred Sinclair of Lancaster, eighteen grandchildren, Travis Sinclair, Alyson Sinclair, Drew Sinclair, Caylan Sinclair, Jaren Starnes, Jason Starnes, Justin Ainsworth, Jordan Ainsworth, Jonathan Chandler, Derek Chandler, Amber P. Epps, Faith P. Cesario, Cory S. Legg, Ashley S. Wall, Dylan Sinclair, Brooke Sinclair Penegar, Heather S. Faulkenberry and Allison Winn Trull; and many great grandchildren.
Mr. Sinclair was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Sinclair; a son-in-law, Wylie Penegar, Sr.; and two grandchildren, Gina M. Starnes and Wylie Penegar, Jr.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Sinclair will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Howard Penegar. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to the College Fund for Brooke Penegar at Founders Federal Credit Union.
