LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Clarence Yates Laney, age 89, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. He was born September 18, 1923 in Union County, NC, the son of the late Benjamin Oscar Laney and Beattie Manilla Montgomery Laney and was the husband of the late Elsie Hough Laney. Mr. Laney was a retired salesman and manager for Coca - Cola Company and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mr. Laney served our great country in the United States Navy during World War II on the Destroyer USS Lansdale and was a Purple Heart Recipient.
Mr. Laney is survived by a son, Dale Laney and his wife Jill of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Wanda L. Sifford and her husband Darryl, and Debbie L. Roberts both of Lancaster, a brother, Kenneth Wayne Laney of Monroe, 2 sisters, Margie Howard of Monroe, Helen Ennis of Norfolk, VA, 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Sifford, Laney Sifford, Dustin Roberts, Jarrett and Jax Laney and a great grandchild, Khloe Sifford.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Laney will be 12 noon Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family of Mr. Laney will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the sanctuary of the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
