LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Charles Edward Wilson, age 81, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born November 22, 1936 in Indian Land, a son of the late Hugh Barr Wilson, Sr. and Eula Viola Griffin Wilson and was the husband of Lucille Goins Wilson. Mr. Wilson loved being outdoors, gardening and fishing. He was a member of Belair United Methodist Church.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, Chuck Wilson and his wife, Sandy of Fort Mill, SC, Scott Wilson and his wife, Cathy of Indian Land, SC, and Marty Wilson and his wife Laurie of Fort Mill, SC; one daughter, Sherri Penfield and her husband, Lonnie of Greer, SC; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two step-sons, Conard Rollins and his wife, Anita of Kershaw, SC and Joey Rollins and his wife, Bonnie of Cairo, GA; and two sisters, Eulene Simpson and Luna Mae Mahaffey.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Kelly Merritt Wilson; a brother, Hugh Barr Wilson, Jr.; and two sisters, Faye Earnhardt and Kathryn Earnhardt.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Wilson will be 3:00 pm Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Belair United Methodist Church by Rev. Mallory Forte.

The family will receive friends, one-hour prior, from 2:00 3:00 pm Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials may be made to Belair United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8095 Shelley Mullis Rd., Indian Land, SC 29707.
