LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Charles Dobson Taylor, 83, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. He was born March 17, 1929 in Lancaster, the son of the late John Davis and Leila Whitaker Taylor and was the widower of Carol "Carla" Faye Deese Taylor. He was a carpenter, having built houses with his father before going to work for Springs at Grace Bleachery from which he retired. He was a charter member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and loved gardening, fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his son, Charles Mike Taylor and his wife Joan; daughter, Wendy T. Steele; grandsons, Micky Taylor and his wife Paula, Marty Taylor and his wife Kelly, and Cliff Henson and his wife Anna; grandchildren Emily, Ashley, Caleb, Noah and Molly; and a brother, J. D. Taylor and his wife Lois.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Taylor, son-in-law Philip B. Steele, brothers, William and Howard Taylor and sisters Louise Roberts, Bernice Taylor and Carol Taylor.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Taylor will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 18, 2013 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Chris Blackmon and Rev Joe Reed.
The family will receive friends following the service and suggested memorials be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
The family will be meeting at the home of his daughter, Wendy Steele, at 2285 Camp Creek Road, Lancaster, SC.
