LANCASTER, SC ~ Charles Ralph Schmidt, age 64, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home.  Charles was born June 28, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania.  He was the son of the late Ralph Schmidt and Mary Adams Schmidt and was the husband of Lori Schmidt. Charles worked for many years as an electronics technician at Carowinds Amusement Park in Charlotte, NC. He was an avid lover of music, music trivia, reading, traveling especially by train, and was a licensed Ham Radio Operator. He loved his family and friends dearly, especially his wife, daughters, and four grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori Gaston Schmidt; two daughters, Kara Schmidt, and Katie Schmidt Caskey, son-in-law Tyler Caskey; four grandchildren, Victoria Schmidt, Carson Caskey, Kadyn Caskey, and Siannah Caskey; a brother, Edward Reed Schmidt(Patti); and a sister, Linda Chandler.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. If you are unable to attend the Celebration of Life Service, the service will be Facebook Live on Burgess Funeral Home & Crematory Facebook page starting at 2:00pm.
