LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Charles Wayne Harris, age 64, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home. He was born February 24, 1954 in Lancaster, a son of the late Clarence Harris and Lula Humphries Harris. He was married to the late Gatsey Faye Span Harris. Mr. Harris was a carpenter. He loved fishing, going to the beach, but more than anything, he loved his grandchildren. He was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Harris is survived by two daughters, Carla Morgan and her husband, Jason of Lancaster and Jennie Horne and her husband, David of Great Falls, seven grandchildren Austin Burch and his fianc, Faith Hernandez, Trent Berry, Elizabeth Harris, Rylee Boone, Corey Morgan, Joshua Morgan and Graclynn Morgan; a brother, Paul Harris; and four sisters, Brenda Hartley, Judy Funderburk, Anne Demby and her husband, Walter, and Kathy Roddey all of Lancaster.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gatsey Faye Span Harris.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Harris will be 12:00 noon Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Roger Anders.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
