LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Charles Hugo Greer, age 85, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at his home. He was born June 4, 1939, in Wilmington, NC, a son of the late Charles Latimer Greer and Catherine Carolyn Vogels Greer and was the loving husband of Delaine Sue Harrington Greer. Mr. Greer proudly served in The United States Air Force. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting deer, elk, and dove. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and racing boats. Mr. Greer, who was also known as the "Krispy Kreme Donut Man", loved giving the children at church donuts every Sunday. He also delivered donuts to the local nursing homes and to wounded warriors. While visiting wounded warriors, he would not only give donuts and minister to them, but he would also provide them with a Bible. Mr. Greer loved giving back to those who served and shared many special conversations and memories with other veterans. He was a volunteer with Wounded Warriors, Camp Lejeune, and Campus Crusade for Christ at The University of North Carolina Wilmington. Mr. Greer was a member of Christ Community Church in Wilmington, NC and served as a deacon in past years.

Mr. Greer is survived by his wife of 56 years; Sue Greer; his son, David Greer (Nicole); his daughters, Tracy Webb (Daryl), Suzanne Paden (Jim); five grandchildren, Brooke Webb, Zach Webb, Gabby Greer, Kai Greer, and Andrew Paden; his sister, Carolyn Greer; his two nephews, Gary Greer (Glinda), and Bobby Greer (Kathryn); his niece, Cathey Greer; two great nieces, Casey Clemmons (Matt), and Alex Greer; and many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Catherine Greer; and his brother, Gerrit Greer.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Greer will be privately held next Saturday. The Graveside Service for Mr. Greer will be held at a later date in Wilmington, NC.
