LANCASTER, SC ~ Charles Preston Fant, age 63, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home.  Charles was born June 20, 1957 in Lancaster, SC.  He was the son of the late Preston Walter Fant and Johnnie Chasteen Fant.  Charles was employed with New Indy Group, formerly Bowater. He was an active member and former treasurer of the USW Union for Bowater.  He was a licensed auctioneer and ran Top Dollar Auction.  Charles enjoyed going to flea markets with his family and was an avid collector. In his spare time, he loved to watch the Andy Griffith Show.  He enjoyed learning, furthering his education and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

Charles is survived by a daughter, Joni M. Wuori and her husband, Mark; two grandchildren, Waylon Randall Wuori and Ruby Cait Wuori; a brother, Paul Eugene Fant and his wife Debbie; a niece, Tasha Fant (David) and her three children, Trinity, Preston and Colt.

The Celebration of Life Service for Charles will be 3:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Rusty McAllister.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. Social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.
