LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Charles Adams, age 92, passed away Sunday April 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 3, 1931. Charles, a Korean War Veteran, served his country with honor and dedication.

He was a hard-working man, a friend to all, and a family man. Known for his generosity and intelligence, Charles could build and fix anything with his skilled hands. For over 30 years he worked as a service manager with the Coca Cola Bottling Company. In his free time, Charles enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, visiting neighbors, and helping those in need.

He was a loving husband of 71 years to Shirley Flynn Adams and is survived by her; his daughter, Janice Stacks; his son, Bobby Adams (Lori); grandchildren, Jason Stacks (Tasha), Stacy Threatt (Kenny), and Megan Blackmon; great grandchildren, Leah, Jesse, and Kelsea Stacks, Cheyenne and Colby Threatt, and Cora Blackmon; and his sister, Martha Ann Floyd.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles Adams, Jr.; grandson, Richard Stacks, Jr.; granddaughter, Kimberly Stacks; his parents, Lewis and Eva Adams; brother, Leroy Adams; sister, Helen Sistare; parents-in-law, Colie and Gertie Flynn; and son-in-law, James "Rick" Stacks.

The Celebration of Life Service for Charles will be 11:00 am Friday April 12, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.

Rest in peace, Charles Adams, a man who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
