September 8, 1959 – September 12, 2025
LANCASTER, SC ~ Charlene Plyler Lowery, 66, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 9, 1959, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, a daughter of the late Pleasant May Plyler and the late Neva Velle Emerick Plyler.
She was selfless in her love and devotion to her family and friends. Charlene enjoyed her flower gardens, especially her daisies. She was an excellent baker and made many wonderful things, but one of her specialties were her famous pineapple cookies. After marrying her husband, Curtis Shock, together they shared 13 years of love, laughter, and adventure.
One of Charlene's greatest joys was traveling with Curtis by her side, they explored the world hand in hand, collecting memories, stories, and lifelong friendships along the way. Her sense of wonder and curiosity made every journey an adventure.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Curtis Shock; her son, Sam Lowery; two grandchildren, Charley Lowery and Noah Lowery; a special niece, Sarah Henry; and best friends, Linda Pooley, and Deena Threatt.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Pleasant May Plyler and Neva Plyler.
