LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Bernard Chadwell "Chad" Beckham, age 84, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home. He was born April 13, 1936, a son of the late George Leslie Beckham and Della Browning Beckham and was the husband of the late Margaret Estridge Beckham. Mr. Beckham was owner operator of Chad's National Auto Parts and Tires and was on the board of the SC Tire Dealers Retreaders Association (SCTDRA) for 45 years where he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. He also served as an officer and past president of SCTDRA. He was a Mason (Lodge 380) and a Hejaz Shriner. Mr. Beckham was a member of Keystone Chapter #19 Royal Arch Mason and Witherspoon Council #33 Royal & Select Masters both of Lancaster, SC, and Lancaster Commandery #19 Knights Templar. Mr. Beckham was an avid SC Gamecock fan and he enjoyed going to the beach. His family meant everything to him, and he loved spending every minute he could with all of them. Mr. Beckham was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Mr. Beckham is survived by two sons, Larry Beckham (Ellen) and Chris Beckham; two daughters, Yoli Crolley (Greg) and Erica Hegler (Justin); nine grandchildren, Katrina Smith (Jimmy), Jeremy Beckham, Doren Crolley, Dolan Crolley (Allison), Cooper Beckham, Sullivan Beckham, Brennon Hegler, Railey Hegler, and Jeffrey Steele; four great grandchildren, Austin Smith, Brooke Smith, Ethan Smith, and Blakeney Craig; two sisters, Bobbie Sellers and Gwen Crenshaw (Curtis); many nieces and nephews; and a very special caretaker, Cathy Mahaffey.
Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Beckham; a son, Eric Beckham; his parents; and a sister, Grace White.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Beckham will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Patrick Clark and Rev. Steven Pace. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum. Social distancing and masks are required.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Burgess Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children , Processing Center, PO Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886.
