LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Rev. Cecil N. Johnson, age 76, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his home. He was born July 17, 1940 in Shelby, NC, the son of the late Rev. Howard Thomas Johnson and Marguerite McSwain Johnson and was the husband of Carolyn Pitman Johnson. Rev. Johnson received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He pastored churches in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, serving the longest at Camp Creek Baptist Church in Lancaster. Rev. Johnson is a member of Second Baptist Church.

Rev. Johnson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Pitman Johnson; two daughters, Yvonne Johnson Roof and her husband, J.B. of Heath Springs, and Nan Johnson of Lancaster; and two grandsons, Justin Monroe Oswald and Benjamin Anderson Oswald.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Rev. Johnson will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Second Baptist Church by Dr. Brian Saxon, Rev. Mike Hammond and Rev. Larry Helm. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 pm, Tuesday evening, January 10, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church Global Harvest, 1426 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
