LANCASTER, SC:::::::::: Mr. Cecil Kent Faile, age 75, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. He was born September 26, 1940 in Lancaster, son of the late James Steve Faile and Connie Rollins Faile and was the husband of Judy Whaley Faile. Cecil retired from Bowater Corporation after working there for almost 40 years. He loved football and was part of the State Championship team for the Lancaster Hurricanes in 1959 and also played for Clemson University. He enjoyed fishing and playing tennis. He had a passion for being outdoors, riding his tractor, working with his hands, and creating and or fixing just about anything that was needed for his friends and loved ones. He served our country in the United States National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster.

Cecil is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Whaley Faile; son, Dakin MacPhail and his wife Darbi of Irmo; grandchildren Ian, Seth, and Tate MacPhail; sisters Polly McIntosh of Edisto Beach and Caroline Faile of Durham, NC; and brother, David Faile and his wife Sherry of Lancaster.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Doudoukjian and brother, James Bud Faile.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Cecil will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Thurmond Johnson and Rev. Randy Hatcher.

The Family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association of South Carolina, 4124 Clemson Boulevard, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
