LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Catherine Ghent Waters, age 81, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center.  She was born September 22, 1937 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest Hazel Ghent, Sr. and Gladys Watson Ghent and was the wife of the late, Joel Lee Waters.  Mrs. Waters enjoyed working puzzles and going to festivals and the State Fair.  She and her husband loved to dance and go to the beach.  Mrs. Waters loved being with family and she always enjoyed their mountain trips together.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her son, Lee Waters and his wife, Rhonda; a grandson, Mychal Waters and his wife, Cam; a granddaughter, Allyssa Waters; a sister, Robbie Snipes; a sister-in-law, Lois Ghent; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joel Waters; her parents; two brothers, Ernest Hazel Ghent, Jr. and Roy B. Ghent; and three sisters, Peggy Bradley, Ruth Rowland, and Betty Sanderson.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Waters will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Lancaster Memorial Park.
