LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Miss Carrie Jane Walters, age 98, died Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born March 10, 1910 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Andronicus Walters and Ellen Usher Walters. She was a homemaker and a member Bethlehem Baptist Church.Miss Walters was the last remaining member of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Miss Walters was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Urbane Walters, Hoyt Walters, and Ira Lee Walters, and 3 sisters, Donia Walters, Flossie Watts, and Lula Ferguson.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Miss Walters will be 2:00 pm, Saturday afternoon, November 22, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reggie Hopkins with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Miss Walters will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1841 N. Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to the Lancaster County Council on Aging, Alzheimer's Department, PO Box 1296, Lancaster, SC 29721.The Family will be at the home of her nephew, James Walters, 3667 Pageland Highway, Lancaster.
