LANCASTER, SC ~ Carrie Leigh Deason Ivey, age 50, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026. She was born August 29, 1975, in Lancaster, the daughter of Larry Thomas Deason and Hollis Elaine Baskins Deason and was the wife of Charles Collins Ivey.
Carrie was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her son. Being a momma was the role she treasured most, and she poured her heart into caring for those she loved. Selfless in every way, Carrie always placed the needs of others before her own and touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion.
A proud graduate of Buford High School, Carrie was honored as the valedictorian of the Class of 1993. Her dedication and determination were evident from an early age and remained with her throughout her life.
Carrie had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, who brought her endless comfort and companionship. She found peace and happiness in life’s simple moments, particularly sitting by the pond and feeding the fish. Those quiet times reflected the gentle spirit she carried so naturally.
She was a dedicated nurse at Fresenius Kidney Care, where she cared deeply for her patients and formed meaningful bonds with those she served. Carrie adored her patients, and her warm heart, gentle nature, and compassionate care made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Carrie will be remembered as the kindest soul with the biggest heart, a loving mother, devoted caregiver, and treasured friend whose love and light will never be forgotten.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Charles Ivey; her son, Bradley Ivey; her parents, Larry and Hollis Deason; her brother, Tommy Deason, and his wife, Jennifer; her special nieces; and many special aunts, uncles, family members, and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service for Carrie will be 1:00pm Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by her brother, Tommy Deason and Rev. Patrick Blackmon.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and at all other times at the home of Larry and Hollis Deason.
