LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Carolyn Cameron Knight Taylor, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on July 17, 1942, a daughter of the late David Cameron and the late Ethel Cameron and was the wife of Jim Taylor. Carolyn lived her whole life in Lancaster; she attended Lancaster Schools including Lancaster High School and The University of South Carolina Lancaster. She retired from Springs Industries after 47 years of service, serving in various capacities in the Marketing Materials Department.
Carolyn was a beautiful, loving, cheerful person, a pillar to her family and loved being with family and friends. She loved her God, family, church, and friends. One of her favorite things she enjoyed was traveling with her husband and special friends, Renate and Gene Helms.
Carolyn was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church where she worshiped her Savior, attended Bible Studies, worked in VBS, studied Bible in her special Life Group, and enjoyed fellowship with friends.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jim Taylor; her daughters, Donna K. Walden and Pam Banks (John); her stepson, Trip Taylor (Pamela); her granddaughters, McKenzie Walden Fly (Zack) and Rory Taylor; her sisters, Brenda Sutton (Gus) and Patricia Nunnery (Tommy); and her brother, David Cameron Jr. (Kathy).
Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Michael Knight and parents, David and Ethel Cameron.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Carolyn will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Second Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. David Carlton and Dr. David Petro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church at 1426 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720 or Hospice of Lancaster and the Piedmont at 901 W Meeting St, Suite 104, Lancaster, SC 29720.
