LANCASTER, SC ~ Carole Ann Aufiero, age 73, passed away June 12, 2021 at her home. She was born December 24, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Ascension Pena and Emma Miranda Pena.  Carole enjoyed going to the beach, watching movies, playing card games with her friends at Sun City, volunteering at a women's shelter, and most importantly being with her beloved grandson, Nicholas.  She adored her two cats, Gabriel and Lulu.  Carole was a member of Antioch International Church.

Carole is survived by her son, Frank Mento (Heather); her grandson, Nicholas Mento; a brother, William "Butch" Pena (Celeste); a sister, Gloria Pena; and many nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosemary Ramirez.

The Celebration of Life Service for Carole will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.
