VAN WYCK, SC::::::::::: Carlton Hammond, age 49, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 9, 1965 in Lancaster County, the son of Margaret Todd Christmas and the late Robert Lewis Hammond, Sr. and was the husband of Kelly Shelly Hammond. Mr. Hammond was a cook for Wendy's and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife, Kelly Hammond, his mother, Margaret Christmas and her companion Jim of Lancaster, a son, Carlton Hammond, Jr. of Van Wyck, 3 brothers, Robert Hammond of Greer, Russell Hammond of Salter Path, NC and Joseph Dassaro, Jr. of Lancaster, and a sister, Tabitha Thompson of Lancaster.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hammond will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home and in lieu of flowers ask for donations be sent to Burgess Funeral Home, PO Box 1743, Lancaster, SC 29720.
