MATTHEWS, NC:::::::::: Mr. Campbell Dunn "Mac" Moorefield, age 85, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010. He was born December 1, 1924 in Lancaster, the son of the late James H. Moorefield and Sara Adams Moorefield and was the husband of Virginia Hendrix Moorefield. Mr. Moorefield retired from Barber-Coleman Company, served our great country in the United States Army during World War II, and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Moorefield is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Hendrix Moorefield, one daughter, Katherine Grahl and her husband Ricky of Kings Mountain, NC, two sons, Christopher Moorefield and his wife Marie of Portsmith, VA and John Moorefield and his wife Tiffany of Columbus, GA, four brothers, Ben Moorefield, Dan Moorefield, and Bill Moorefield all of Lancaster and David Moorefield of Clinton, SC, two sisters, Katie Simon and Dorothy Smith both of Lancaster, and four grandchildren, Nicholas Grahl, Ana Moorefield, Adrienne Moorefield, and Makana Moorefield.Mr. Moorefield was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Moorefield and a sister, Ann Carter.The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Moorefield will be 2:00 pm Friday afternoon, January 22, 2010 at Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Rev. Larry Watts with burial to follow. The Family will hold a memorial service at 10:00 am Saturday morning, January 23, 2010 at the Chapel of Plantation Estates in Matthews, NC.The Family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or Plantation Estates Inspirational Fund, 733 Plantation Estates Drive, Charlotte, NC 28105.
