LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Bruce Edward Smith, age 86, died Sunday, April 26, 2015. He was born March 20, 1929 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Bruce Smith and Sylvia Yinglin Smith. Mr. Smith was first married to the late Elaine McDowell Smith and later to the late Barbara Lanoue Hagins Smith. Mr. Smith retired from Dupont and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He was a Mason with Hiram Lodge #25 in Delaware and served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Smith is survived by three stepsons; Eugene McDowell and his wife Barbara of Delaware, Thomas Hagins and his wife Sharon and Chris Hagins and his wife Wanda of Lancaster; two stepdaughters; Debbie Mullis and her husband Phillip and Lynn Oliver and her husband Michael also of Lancaster; a brother in law, Jimmy McDowell and his wife Dot of Lancaster, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Smith will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill McCown.

The Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, at the church and in lieu of flowers suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
