LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. John Bruce Hunter, age 69, of 4129 Jenkins Hill Road, died Monday, February 23, 2009. He was born June 26, 1939 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Brice Hunter and Sarah Jenkins Hunter and was the husband of Jeanette Phillips Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a farmer and a member of the Lancaster County Cattleman's Association and also served on the Lancaster County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church.Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife Jeanette Phillips Hunter of the home, a son, Kyle Hunter and his wife Amy of Lancaster, a daughter, Deana Usher and her husband Grady also of Lancaster, and four grandchildren, Erica and Kaylee Hunter and Jesse and Sarah Usher.Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Jack Hunter.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hunter will be 1:00 pm, Thursday afternoon, February 26, 2009 at High Point Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Hethcoat and Rev. Bobby Joyner with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Hunter will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm Wednesday evening, February 25, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to High Point Baptist Church, 1888 Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
