LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Miss Brenda Lacene Poovey, age 67, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born April 23, 1945 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late George Parks Poovey and Iona Robinson Watson. Miss Poovey was a retired childcare giver and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Miss Poovey was the last member of her immediate family, survived only by several cousins, friends and her church family.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Miss Poovey will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Patrick Clark. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family of Miss Poovey will receive friends immediately following the service and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3731 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster SC 29720.

Funeral Service is 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church.
