LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Brenda Joye Feagin Newton, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 8, 2024. She was born September 27, 1941, in Berkeley County, SC, a daughter of the late Rev. Ashton P. Feagin and the late Murrell Joye Feagin and was the loving wife of the late Olin Daniel Newton, Sr. Mrs. Newton was a member of Lancaster First Pentecostal Holiness Church. In younger years, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and was involved in music ministry for over 40 years in various churches. Mrs. Newton enjoyed baking, especially her most favorable chocolate cakes. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Newton is survived by her five children, Olin Daniel "Danny" Newton Jr. (Donna), Darryl Glenn Newton (Wendy), David Anthony Newton (Cindy), Donald Wayne Newton, and Patricia "Pat" Mackey (Ja), all of Lancaster; her daughter-in-law, Susan Newton; eight grandchildren, Kristen Anderson (Steven), Zach "Figg" Newton, Heather Graffam (Caleb), Tyler Newton (Katherine), Sara N. Adams (John), Brandon Newton (Allison), Jon Ross Newton, and Nicholas Jeremiah Newton; nine great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Hayes, Brantley Graffam, Scarlett Graffam, Brody Anderson, Ansleigh Graffam, Everleigh Newton, Wales Newton, Caleb James "C.J." Graffam, Grafton Newton, and baby Bennett Newton on the way; two brothers, Tommy Feagin (LeeAnn) of Pennsylvania, and Rev. Dale Feagin (Cindy) of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Carole McGee, and Dena Feagin, both of Lexington, SC; and a large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Olin Newton, Sr.; her parents, Rev. Ashton and Murrell Feagin; her brother, Rev. Ashton Feagin; and her sister, DiAnn Hood.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Newton will be 3:00 pm Friday, July 12, 2024, at Lancaster First Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated Rev. Frank Jordan, Rev. Bill Phipps, Rev. LeGrande Taylor, and Rev. Tommy Ross.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Lancaster First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1138 10th St, Lancaster, SC 29720.
