LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Brenda Louann Hallman Hunter, age 75, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Novant Health-Main. She was born January 21, 1944 in Lancaster, SC the daughter of the late Lonnie Melvin Hallman and Brennie Henrietta Mackey Hallman and was the wife of Allen Lloyd Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was affectionately known to everyone as "Nana". She never met a stranger. Mrs. Hunter cooked for many years at Riverside Grocery and Grill. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a breast cancer survivor and always supported the Lancaster County Relay for Life. Mrs. Hunter was a faithful member for many years of Catawba Baptist church where she was a GA and Acteens leader, in the WMU and sang in the choir.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband of 58 years, Allen Hunter; three sons, Joe Hunter and his wife, Melinda, Rick Hunter and his wife, Kristi, and Tim Hunter; nine grandchildren, Clint Hunter and his wife, Meagan, Tyler Hunter, Whitney Hunter, Stephen Hunter, Abigail Hunter, Dani Hunter, Kacey Davis and her husband, Austin, Kody Hunter and Summer Hunter; three great grandchildren, Gage Davis, Landree Davis and Adrianna Davis.
Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Melvin Hallman.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Hunter will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Catawba Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Rick Hunter and Rev. Sean Stroud. The family will hold a private burial.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lancaster County Relay for Life, 1901 Brunswick Ave. #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
