LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Brenda Deese Hilley, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at her home. She was born October 21, 1942, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Walter Deese and the late Lilian Catoe Deese. Ms. Hilley enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, and working in her yard. She was a retired cafeteria cashier with the Lancaster County School District. Ms. Hilley was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter McKenna.

Ms. Hilley is survived by her daughter, DeAnna Riggins, and her husband, Jason, whom she loved dearly; her granddaughter, McKenna Riggins; three sisters, Linda Sims (Tommy), Sarah Funderburk, and Debbie Deese; two brothers, Jerry Deese (Shirley), and Harold Deese; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends whom she loved dearly.

Ms. Hilley was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lilian Deese; her sister, Sandra Riggins; two brothers, Donald Deese, and Mike Deese; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Funderburk, and Richard Hatcher.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Ms. Hilley will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Steve Anglin. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Care Hospice, 1326 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
