KERSHAW, SC ~ With heavy hearts, the family of Brenda Kay Catoe Adams, announced her passing, surrounded by her family, at her home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1948. In Lancaster, SC Daughter to Jesse Coleman and Ethel McManus Catoe, and twin to Charlie Franklin Catoe.

Over the years, Brenda built a life centered around family, faith, and her years as a beautician. She was also known for her joy of sewing. She may have been quiet and reserved but she was mighty. She loved like no other. She was completely devoted to her family and her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Terry Wayne Adams.

She leaves behind her husband, her children Sandy Adams Hilliard (Jeff), Micheal Adams (Jamie Halstead) and Jody Adams (Arlene Kerr) Her grandchildren Lain Adams (Stephanie), Hannah Adams (William Cork IV), Tucker Hilliard (Makenzie), Abe Hilliard, and Brenna Hilliard. Her Great-grandchildren Baker Cleo Adams and Riley Kate Hilliard. Her surviving brothers Charlie Catoe, Carl Catoe (Maxine), and Jesse Dean Catoe

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Ethel Catoe. Her father and mother-in-law Homer and Betsy Adams. Her sisters Barbara Catoe Holden (MJ), Elsie Catoe Howard (Charles), Martha Catoe Driggers (Bobby) and Myra Catoe Deese (Teenie), and her Baby brother Jeffery Paul Catoe (Tammy). Her sisters-in-law Patricia Plyler (Cliff) and Kathy Stroud (Bob)

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 25th at Burgess Funeral Home at 11am led by Rev. Jackie Jenkins and Rev. Mike Hammond. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. Any memorials need to be made to Taxhaw Baptist Church. 

Her family is grateful for the outpouring of kindness and support during this time.
