LANCASTER, SC – Brandon Scott Johnson, age 37, passed away on Tuesday, June 9 2026. He was born April 2, 1989, in Lancaster, SC, the son of James “Jamie” Clyde Johnson and Cheryl Ann Whitaker Johnson.

Brandon found joy in the simple things he loved most, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his dogs, building his collection of model cars, and collecting NASCAR cards. He deeply valued time spent with family and looked forward to family gatherings, especially when they centered around sharing a meal together. Above all, Brandon loved his family. He was a proud and caring uncle who cherished every moment spent playing with his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless happiness.

Brandon is survived by his two children, Jayden Whitaker, and Airianna Hudson; his bonus children, Branson Neil Beckham, and Pasleigh Alayla Beckham; his mother, Cheryl Johnson; his father, Jamie Johnson; his two sisters, Shana Johnson, and Candice Johnson (Felicia Duncan); his brother, Michael “Mikey” Johnson; his nieces and nephews, Jayda Guzman, Maria Gomez, Pedro Maza, Destiney Maza, Nova Juarez, Major Bufford, Rico Curry, Carter Johnson, Jaydence Johnson, Ashlyn Johnson, and Hayley Johnson; maternal grandmother, Faye Schaeffer; his aunt and second mother, Ann Johnson; and his three cousins who were like brothers, Tony Laney, Derrick Laney, and Andy Laney.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Alyssah Roxanne Totherow; his maternal grandfather, Charles Crawford Whitaker; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Annie Johnson.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Brandon will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Cotton Pate. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
