LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Bonnie A.T. Hinson, age 90, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home. He was born December 24, 1922 in Lancaster County, a son of the late A.M. Hinson and Lula Barker Hinson and was the husband of Lula Louise Hinson. Mr. Hinson was the retired owner and operator of Hinson's Trading Post, was a lifetime Mason with Antioch Lodge, a Shriner, a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Mr. Hinson is survived by 2 sons, Bonnie Howell Hinson and his wife Christine and Wayne Douglas Hinson and his wife Cheryl, 3 daughters, Dorothy "Dot" H. Faile and her husband Robert C. "Sambo" Faile, Peggy H. Crenshaw and her special friend, Ronnie Elvis, and Brenda H. Whitaker all of Lancaster, 12 grandchildren, Cecil Faile, Lindsey Powers, Joel Powers, Lori Whitaker, Lee Whitaker, Staci Holden, Corey Hinson, Kala Robinson, Andrew Pawlowski, Sheena Hinson, Jennifer Dobson, and Kailey Hagins, 20 great grandchildren and his caregivers, Vera Haynes, Linda Jordan, Donna Knight, Kim Catoe, Laura Peacock and Katherine Watts.
Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by 4 brothers, James M. Hinson, C.R. Hinson, Ira Lee Hinson and Caldwell T. "Red" Hinson, a sister, Lula Mae Knight and a granddaughter, Trista Bonae Hinson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hinson will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Union Baptist Church by Rev. Jackie Jenkins and Rev. J.D. Wilson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mr. Hinson will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorial contributions to Union Baptist Church, Building Fund, 5003 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Hospice of South Carolina, 412 N. White Street, Suite A, Lancaster, SC 29720.
