Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Bonnie Dunlap Funderburk, age 73, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. She was born July 29, 1947 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Leo Dunlap and Sadie Louise Whitaker Dunlap and was the wife of Fletcher Ray "Bud" Funderburk, Sr.  Mrs. Funderburk enjoyed cooking and loved to help others.  She and her husband Bud did everything together and always enjoyed one another's company.  Her family was very important to her and she loved every moment she could spend with them.  Mrs. Funderburk was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church where she was very active.

Mrs. Funderburk is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bud Funderburk; her daughter, Tammy F. Kirk (Walter); two granddaughters, Madison Aldridge and Kaylin Aldridge; a great grandson, Cayden Aldridge; two sisters, Shirley Bryson, and Sadie Bolick; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank Dunlap, and Joe Dunlap; and three sisters, Frances Benton, Nancy Seegars, and Diane Woodward.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Funderburk will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Mitch Ingram.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, in the church sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, 1697 N. Rocky River Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
