LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Bobby Bruce Langley, age 71, passed away, Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born March 13, 1953, the son of the late Joe Thomas Langley and the late Carolyn Rebecca Sims Langley and was the loving husband of the late Karen Gregory Langley.
Bobby is survived by his four siblings: Jerry Langley (Wanda), Denise Knight (Gene), Jodi Pittmon (George), and Susan Langley; five nieces and nephews: Alisha Steen, Dana Hufford, Jeremy Langley, Amanda Ashley, and Summer Knight; several great nieces and nephews; 2 stepchildren: Melissa Kaye and Steven Biggers; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; close friend, Alice Knight, and many special friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Langley, and his parents, Joe Langley and Carolyn Sims Langley.
Mr. Langley chased his dreams of being a musician in the early 80's when he traveled the East Coast playing at several venues with different bands. He spent much of his time as a bass player for the Heartbreak Kids, Rebels N Debt, and Stormz. He was also a sound engineer for several large band's at large venues across the U.S. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch with his guitar playing the greats of Bob Seger, Carlos Santana, and many other music legends. He instilled his value of music to several members of his family. He taught them that the greatest genre alive was Rock-n-Roll. After his journey in the music industry, Mr. Langley obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management. He loved lake life and being on the boat with his friends and family. His love for Harley Davidson allowed him to ride The Dragon's Tail, a motorcycle enthusiast's dream. He loved his family and Sunday Dinner at his sister's house. Mr. Langley believed in living life to the fullest. He believed in having a great time and taking chances. In the words of his favorite musician, it is now time to "Turn the Page."
The Celebration of Life Service for Bobby will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 1, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Catlin Rollings. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
