LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Rev. Billy Gene Osborne, age 66, of 601 Trevor Court, went to his heavenly home on September 17, 2009. He was born March 5, 1943 in Rock Hill, SC; the son of the late Bill Osborne and Georgia Wolfe Osborne and was the husband of Jane Rodgers Osborne. Rev. Osborne was a United Methodist Minister for 32 years having served in many churches throughout the SC Conference; Spartanburg, Mullins, Greenwood, Orangeburg, Abbeville, Walterboro, Charleston, Pageland and Lancaster. Rev. Osborne was survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jane R. Osborne of the home, 2 sons, Dennis William Osborne and his wife Tommie Kaye of Chandler, OK and Roger Scott Osborne of Ladson, SC, 2 grandchildren, Hannah Joye Osborne and Stephen William Osborne, a sister, Martha Willis and her husband Ned of Mauldin, a sister-in-law, Betty Howie and her husband Bob of Indian Land, his aunt, Daisy Taylor of Camden, several nieces and nephews, and the caretakers of Agape Senior Rehabilitation; Tara Jesse, Sybil Bowers, and Margaret McClain. Rev. Osborne was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Sanford Osborne and twin granddaughters, Bethany and Brittany Osborne. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Rev. Osborne will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. Steve Patterson, Rev. Sara White, and Rev. Scott Middleton with burial to follow at Bel-Air United Methodist Church in Indian Land. The Family of Rev. Osborne will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and in lieu of flowers suggest memorial contributions to be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, 3734 Heyward Hough Road, Lancaster, SC 29720, or Agape Hospice, 1317 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
