Obituary
LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Billy Keith Crook, age 82, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born November 9, 1931 in Union County, the son of the late James Mark Crook and Roxie Melton Crook and was the husband of Betty Pardue Crook. Mr. Crook retired from Duracell and served our country in the United States Marines. He had served as Treasurer of the Lancaster County Singing Convention and previously served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at his former church, Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. Crook is currently a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Mr. Crook is survived by his wife, Betty Pardue Crook of the home, two sons, Mike Crook and his wife Margaret of Fayetteville and Chris Crook of Lancaster, a brother, Wade Van Crook and his wife Shirley of North Myrtle Beach, four sisters, Blonnie Watts, Bessie Haire and Verla Mae Stevens all of Lancaster and Frances Robinson and her husband Buddy of Lugoff, five grandchildren, Crystal Carole Crook, Michael Jacob Crook, Kelly Amanda Crook, Bobby Kyle Crook and Matthew Allen Crook, and seven great grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Millett, Chianne Alexus Ellis, Austin Keilee Ellis, Seth Alexander Crook, Natalie Renae Duncan, Jaiden Leayne Crook and Patrick William Crook.
Mr. Crook was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph "Buddy" Crook and two sisters, Dorothy Cook and Loma Trull.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Crook will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Eastside Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Neal and Rev. Jerry Branham. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mr. Crook will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions to Eastside Baptist Church, 1180 Garnette Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
