INDIAN LAND, SC –Mr. William "Bill" Douglas Vierstra, age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was born September 25, 1939, in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, son of the late Andrew Vierstra and Katherine Opperwall Vierstra and was the husband of Elizabeth Mason Vierstra. Mr. Vierstra was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill, SC.

Mr. Vierstra is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Vierstra; his son, Gary Vierstra (Courtney) of Kent, OH; his daughter, Laura Jean Vierstra of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, Simon Vierstra (Holly), Maxwell Vierstra, and Joseph Vierstra; two great grandchildren, Charles William Vierstra and Ariadne Vierstra; and two sisters, Shirley Barker of Sewickley, PA and Joyce Camara of Indian Land, SC.

Bill's faith was at the center of his life.  He lived this through 50 years of service during the founding of the Akron Christian Reformed Church in 1966 through his time with Unity Presbyterian lunch bunch.  Bill was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.  He was a traveler, a planner, a do-er and a bit of a comedian.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 12, 2024, at Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill, SC.  Interment will be in the church columbarium. All are welcome to join the family in remembering Bill after the service in the Unity fellowship hall.
