ROCK HILL, SC ~ Mr. William "Bill" Karl Hawfield, age 82, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home. He was born January 29, 1939, in Fort Mill, SC, a son of the late William Dowd Hawfield and Lois Nelson Patterson Hawfield and was the husband of Carolyn Hudson Hawfield. Bill was a 1964 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Textiles Chemistry. He was owner operator of Chemlan Chemicals specializing in cleaning materials and car care products. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Cox Veterinary Lab. Bill was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was an avid Clemson fan, enjoyed going to the beach, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Hawfield; his daughter, Inga Kish (Larry); three grandchildren, Hayden Kish, Lydia Kish, and Connor Kish; his sister, Dianne Hawfield; and a large extended family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Bill will be 11:00 am Monday, November 15, 2021, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Deacon Martha Richard. Burial will follow at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
