LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Betty Sue Cook Wright, age 86, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at MUSC-Lancaster.  She was born March 26, 1936 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Scott Andrew Cook and the late Novella Maven Cook and was the wife of the late Marion R.L. Wright. Mrs. Wright enjoyed watching westerns and sitting in her recliner and watching birds at her bird feeder. She loved spending time with her family, her best days were spent spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wright loved her dog Lady who she spent a lot of time with.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her sons, Michael Odell Wright (Lorraine), Richard Wayne Wright (Robbie), and Roger D. Wright; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; her two sisters, Florence Moree, and Jean Stogner (Mike); her brother, Steve Cook (Sylvia); and her son-in-law, Steve Hendryx.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Wright; her sons, David Ray Wright, Benjamin "Benny" Wright; her daughter, Cynthia Diane Hendryx; her parents, Scott and Novella Cook; her sister, Mary Helms; and her brothers, Clyde Cook, George Cook, Neal Cook, Robert Cook, and Richard Cook.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Wright will be 11:00 am Friday, May 13, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Trent McLaughlin. Burial will follow at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Wright, 1669 John Truesdale Rd. Lancaster SC, 29720.
