FORT MILL, SC:::::::Mrs. Betty Jo Tate Wilson, age 80, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at her home. She was born January 21, 1935 in Rutherford County, NC, a daughter of the late Gilford Young Tate and Eliza Emlina Queen Tate and was the wife of the late Hazel Ernlow Wilson. Mrs. Wilson retired from Winn Dixie Corporation and was a member of Belair United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by three daughters, Sharon Galloway of Fort Mill, Robin McGuirt and her husband, Wayne of Fort Mill and Brenda Taylor of Rock Hill; a brother, Norris Tate of Forest City; a sister, Lucille Lane of Gastonia; six grandchildren, Michael Galloway, Amanda Bennett, Joy McGuirt, James Taylor II, Jason Taylor, Erin Taylor and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a grandson, Rickey McGuirt and a sister, Alice Smith.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Wilson will be 3:00 pm, Friday, October 16, 2015 at Belair United Methodist Church by Rev. Harry Gindhart and Rev. Tony Adams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family will receive friends following the graveside service at the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W. Meeting Street, Suite 201, Lancaster, SC 29720.
