LANCASTER, SC~ Mrs. Betty Mae Christmas Sims, age 83, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020.  She was born May 6, 1937 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Hilton Charles "HC" Christmas and Janie A. Williams Christmas and was the wife of Claude Sims, Sr.  Mrs. Sims loved the color burgundy and enjoyed collecting any items in this color.  She enjoyed watching the Price is Right and shopping.  Mrs. Sims was a simple lady who loved her family and enjoyed all the time she could spend with them.

Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband, Claude Sims, Sr.; two sons, Randy Sims, and Claude Sims, Jr. (Katrina); three daughters, Gail Galloway (George), Janie Adams (Donnie), and Janet Outen; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Christmas; two sisters, Jackie Carol Todd, and Alice Cook (Danny); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clyde Christmas, Pete Christmas, and Franklin Christmas; two sisters, Dot Hinson, and Shirley Barton; and a great grandchild.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Sims will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 25, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC.
