MONROE, NC::::::::::: Mrs. Betty Jean Hinson Shehane, age 79, of 3720 Griffith Road, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center - Union. She was born January 27, 1931 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Finley Hinson and Cleo Atkins Hinson and was the wife of Richard C. Shehane. Mrs. Shehane retired from Springs Industries - Customer Service and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shehane is survived by her husband, Richard C. Shehane of the home and a daughter, Rebecca Joy Shehane of Charleston. Mrs. Shehane was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hinson Shehane.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Shehane will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 at New Hope United Methodist Church by Rev. Ronald Setzer. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
