HEATH SPRINGS, SC:::::::Mrs. Betty Anne Catoe Phillips, age 71, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born January 3, 1944 in Kershaw, the daughter of the late Keever Benjamin Catoe and Irene Margaret Faulkenberry Catoe and was the wife of the late Ray Thomas Phillips, Jr.. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and she and her late husband had served as foster parents. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and puzzles. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and was a very active member of the Grace Sunday School class. She was a Godly Christian lady who loved her Lord and her family.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Phillips Shute and her husband Reggie of Heath Springs; a son, Charles Wayne Phillips and his fiance, Deena Helms Gray of Lancaster; a daughter in law, Heidi Phillips of Heath Springs; two brothers, Lonnie Catoe of Lancaster and Charles Catoe and his wife, Judy of Heath Springs; two sisters, Marguerite Adams and her husband, Edward of Lancaster and Joycie Brazell and her husband, Fred of Kershaw; three grandchildren, Payton Shute, Samantha Phillips and Alyssa Phillips; two step grandchildren, Branan Pate and Hayley Nix; four step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a son, James Morgan "Jamie" Phillips and four brothers, Eugene Catoe, A. W. Catoe, Dewey Catoe, and Carroll Catoe.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Phillips will be 3:00 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Sherwood Baptist Church by Rev. Rusty McAlister and Rev. Curtis Cameron, Sr. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, 2316 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.
