LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Betty Jean Lane McCain, age 78,very beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of 2310 Shiloh Unity Road died Friday July 8, 2011 at Morningside Assisted Living. She was born April 9, 1933 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Aubrey Earl Lane and Maebeth Capps Lane and was the wife of Harry Lake McCain. She retired from Springs Industries Customer Service as a comptroller secretary,a member of Unity ARP Church and president of Linda Henderson Bible Class,a member of the chancel choir, and member of Carson-Sherer CircleMrs. McCain is survived by her husband, Harry Lake McCain of the home, a son, Roger L. McCain and his wife Judy of Greenville, a daughter, Karen M. Baxley and her husband Don of Lancaster, a brother, Bob Lane of Columbia, a sister, Doris Clark of Columbia, 6 grandchildren: Shawn L. McCain , Leah Nail, Morgan McCain, Joshua K. McCain, Chandler Baxley and Bailey Baxley, and 5 great grandchildren, Kaden L. McCain, Alexander L. McCain, Preston R. McCain, Ashlyn B. McCain and Braden Nail. Mrs. McCain was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Milton Lane and Gordon Lane.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McCain will be 3:00 pm Sunday July 10, 2011 at Unity ARP Church by Rev. Charles Hammond. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mrs. McCain will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall and suggests memorials to Unity ARP Church, 3495 Unity Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
