LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Betty Sue Robertson Carnes, age 88, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023. She was born June 1, 1935, in Heath Springs, SC, daughter of the late Hilliard Robertson and Edith Mobley Robertson and was the wife of the late Jimmy Little Carnes. Betty graduated from her beloved Buford High School and Columbia Business College. Her career life includes administrative assistance duties at Builder's Supply, The Bank of Lancaster, and Southern Gas. She was owner/operator of Jack and Jill Nursery. Children were one of her greatest joys. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star and the Lancaster Garden Club. Family was important and she loved them all dearly. Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her son, Craig Carnes (Leann); her daughter, Nannette Carnes; and two grandchildren, Cody Carnes and Jordin Carnes.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and the aunt and uncle who raised her, Howard and Madeline Henry.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Betty will be 2:00 pm Tuesday October 3, 2023, at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Monday October 2, 2023, at Burgess Funeral Home.
