LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mrs. Betty Rowell Bailes Wilson, age 78, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home. She was born March 26, 1938 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Richard E. Rowell, Sr. and Helen Ezzell Rowell. She was married to the late Carl Morris Bailes, Jr. and the late Mahlon Phillips Wilson. Mrs. Wilson loved gardening. She was very friendly, down to earth, and an amazing conversationalist who was genuinely interested in everyone. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by a son, Michael E. Bailes and his wife, Mashalle of Murrells Inlet, SC; two daughters, Elizabeth Bailes Maye and her husband, Anthony of Smith Mountain Lake, VA and Leslie Ann Bailes of Charlotte, NC; a sister in law, Debra Rowell of Lancaster; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a niece.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Dick Rowell, Jr.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Wilson will be 11:00 am Monday, June 27, 2016 at Lancaster Memorial Park and will be officiated by her grandsons, Rev. Joe Maye and Rev. Jason Ledford.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia SC 29210.
