LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Bernell Jennings Craig, age 90, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville. She was born June 25, 1928 in Caroleen, NC, the daughter of the late Eddie Ed Jennings and Nellie Goode Jennings and was the wife of the late Carl Frances Craig, Sr. Mrs. Craig enjoyed working in her flower beds, being outdoors, crocheting and baking and was famous for her seven-layer chocolate cake. She and two close friends, Sylvia Timmons and Alice Shaver, loved to travel together. Mrs. Craig was a faithful and active member of Second Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and Pre-school classes, was a member of the choir and Sr. Adult group, visited the shut-ins and those in the hospital and was a powerful prayer warrior.

Mrs. Craig is survived by her son, Rick Craig and his wife, Frankie; two daughters, Karen Starnes and her husband, Mickey and Libby Kirkley and her husband, Richard; five grandchildren, Brian Craig (Wendy), Rev. Kevin Craig (Sarah), Jamie Starnes (Michelle), Daniel Kirkley, and Dustin Kirkley (Erin); fourteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, Garlan Jennings; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Craig, Sr.; and two brothers, David Jennings and Billy Joe Jennings.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Craig will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Second Baptist Church by Dr. Brian Saxon. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund or Global Harvest, 1426 Great Falls Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720.
