LIBERTY HILL, SC – Mr. Bernard "Jody" Joseph McCormick, age 51, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. He was born March 4, 1971, in Huntington, WV, a son of Judy McCormick Francis and was the husband of Tara Twitty McCormick.  Jody loved his daughters.  He enjoyed working on boats, cooking, gardening, and woodworking.  Jody was very creative and talented.

Jody is survived by his wife, Tara Twitty McCormick: two daughters, Madison "Hotrod" Leigh McCormick, and Cierra "Peanut" Taylor McCormick; his mother and stepfather, Judy Francis and Rev. Greg Francis; a brother, Michael Brooks: (Jennifer); two sisters, Stacie Francis, and Mary Francis; his mother-in-law, Patsy Twitty; a brother-in-law, James Edward Twitty; aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful furry companion, Duke.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. McCormick will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Greg Francis.

The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Founders Federal Credit Union, Madison and Cierra's college fund, 737 Plantation Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
