LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Henry Benjamin “Benji” Terry, age 60, passed away on August 6, 2026. He was born in Lancaster, SC on October 30, 1965, he was the son of the late James Kenneth Terry and the late Margaret Juanita Blackwell Terry.

Benji was a man who found joy in the simple things in life and whose greatest happiness came from spending time with the people he loved. He had a fun-loving spirit and was truly a child at heart, especially when it came to playing with his girls when they were younger. Whether they were coloring, playing video games, or simply spending time together, those moments with his girls were among his most treasured memories.

Benji had a lifelong love for NASCAR and enjoyed following the sport and all the excitement that came with it. After recently moving to Colorado, he discovered a new appreciation for the beauty and adventure of nature. He loved rock climbing, paddle boarding, and exploring the outdoors, embracing the new experiences and adventures that Colorado had to offer.

Benji recently gave his life back to Christ, a decision that brought a renewed sense of faith and purpose to his life. He enjoyed attending church at Gather Church where he was blessed by the fellowship and opportunity to grow in his relationship with the Lord.

A talented and hardworking man, Benji worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He took great pride in his work, especially his grading skills, and was proud of the work he was able to accomplish. He was a man who knew his craft and took pride in doing his job well.

Benji also loved being around the grill and smoker. He especially enjoyed smoking meat, with Boston butts being one of his favorites. For Benji, cooking was more than just preparing a meal—it was another way to bring people together and create memories with those he loved.

Benji will be remembered for his playful heart, his love for his girls and family, his adventurous spirit, his strong work ethic, and his renewed faith in Christ. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Benji is survived by his three daughters, Leslie McCord (Rick), Marley Terry Vigil (Adam), and Jaden Terry; his granddaughter, Isla Mae Vigil (Expected September 2026); his two sisters; Pam Carnes (Trent), and Anne Sims (Scott); and many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Terry; and the mother of his children, Trisha Terry.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Benji will be at 11:00am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will hold a memorial reception following the Graveside Service at Hyde Park Baptist Church, in the church fellowship hall.
