LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Rebecca "Becky" Adams Mathews, age 49, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.  She was born December 17, 1969 in Lancaster, a daughter of Barbara Cooper Adams and the late Donald L. Adams.  Becky was a retired EMT.  She was a great friend, had a big heart, and always willing to help others.  During her free time, she enjoyed fishing, volunteering at the Lancaster Animal Shelter and the Lancaster County Rescue Squad.  Becky was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Becky is survived by her mother, Barbara Adams; a brother, Donny Adams and his wife, Becky; a sister, Beth Adams Ghent; a niece, Lauren Ghent Van Scoyoc and her husband, Eric; and a nephew, Brad Ghent.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Donald Adams.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Ms. Mathews will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hyde Park Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Charlie Simpson.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am-11:00 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hyde Park Baptist Church Memorial Center, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Lancaster SPCA, PO Box 3042, Lancaster, SC 29721.
