LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Barry Carnes, age 53, of 5613 Camp Creek Road, died Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill after a 3 year battle with brain cancer. He was born November 13, 1955 in Lancaster, the son of JC Carnes and Jane Holt Carnes and was the husband of Stephanie Anne Carnes. Mr. Carnes worked for Continental Tire Manufacturing Company for 20 + years, was a Harley Davidson and Classic Car Enthusiast, of the Baptist faith and served our great country in the United States Army. Mr. Carnes is survived by his wife, Stephanie Anne Carnes of the home, his parents, JC and Jane Carnes of Lancaster, a brother, Trent Carnes and his wife Pam of Lancaster, and 3 sisters, Tonya Payne and her husband Rodger of Lancaster, Wanda Carnes Campbell and her husband Lonnie of Winnsboro, and Ginger Carnes Massengale and her husband Jim of Columbia. A Private Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Duke University, Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, 047 Baker House, Trent Drive, Durham, NC 27710.
